About Tamer

Hi, I’m Tamer!
I’m a passionate social entrepreneur and neighbouring enthusiast who strongly believes that healthy communities have the power to heal. In fact, I'm convinced that the only way we will solve the pressing health, social, and environmental issues that we are facing today is by building strong, inclusive and sustainable communities.
My background is in holistic wellness and I’ve always had a keen interest in longevity. Much of the research tells us that a truly healthy life includes eating local and sustainable food, having strong social connections and a deep relationship to our natural environment. This awareness has led me down the path of consulting, writing and filmmaking in the space of health and community wellbeing.
I’ve been grateful to develop relationships with top leaders in the field - including Howard Lawerence, Paul Born and Cormack Russell. With their guidance, I’ve learned to take an asset-based approach to this work. Through filmmaking, I’ve connected with community activists, experts and citizens from all over North America, which has allowed me to see first-hand what makes neighbourhoods and cities thrive - and the unfortunate consequences of community breakdown and social isolation.
If I have one message to share with you, it’s this: In order to be well, we need to come together. Our society as a whole depends on it. It is my hope that my work in this field contributes to the creation of more mindful, conscious and connected places for all of us to live in.
Sincerely,
Tamer Soliman
